Dinner at The Fish Shop

The Fish Shop at Potts Point is part of the broader Merivale group, so consequently it is both a bar and a restaurant. This place has adopted the site of the previous Lotus restaurant and bar, down out of the heart of the Kings Cross strip.  It is better known for its food offerings than for its drinks, and is considered to make one of, if not the best burger in Sydney. At $19 it is on the pricier side of burgers however it the effort and technique involved in making it is far superior to the offerings at alternative places which are slightly cheaper. The bun is steamed, then a mixture of chuck, brisket and aged fat is made into a patty, then is added a mixture of bacon, cheese, onion, pickles, mayo and sauce. The burger has been inherited from the previous Lotus restaurant, with the remaining items on the menu predominately fish related.  Given the quality of the restaurant, the plain fish and chips at $19 is not bad value and the crumbed fish burger is also highly regarded.
